SYLLABUS SE SCIENCE
· Improve competency in areas of science
· Increase use of reading to broaden understanding of community and world
· Improve vocabulary
· Use periodicals to increase awareness of science
Students will use a variety of methods in studying Science in this class which will include experimentation, cooperative learning, and independent reading.
First Nine Weeks
· What is Science?
· Earth Science
Second Nine Weeks
· Life Science
· Physical Science
Ø Be on time! You must be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings.
Ø When the bell rings you must begin the Bellringer activity and complete it in an appropriate amount of time.
Ø Be respectful! Show respect to everyone and everything.
Ø The teacher dismisses the class, not the bell!
Ø Be prepared! Bring daily-required materials to class every day. Make sure pencils are sharpened or that you have paper before teacher begins to lecture.
Ø Students will remain in their seats while the teacher is lecturing.
Ø Wait until teacher is finished with lecture before interrupting, unless there is a question about the material the teacher is teaching.
Ø Students must receive permission and sign out to go to the bathroom. They will be allowed no more than one bathroom pass each week.
Ø Students may not place their feet on the seats of desks.
Ø Applying makeup and grooming is appropriate in the bathroom not in the classroom.
Ø No eating or drinking in class except for water.
Ø Horseplay is not appropriate for the classroom and will not be permitted.
