English II

Lori Wilhoit, Teacher

Personal fact sheet: married to Eric Wilhoit, a computer programmer at The Hartford in Connecticut; two children, Brant & Brynna, one frog, several fish, three turtles, and four legged baby Princess Leia.

Hobbies: reading, Friday night Football, Facebook, Mickey Mouse collecting, Twilight obsession, Harry Potter obsession, managing Wilhoit Acres on Hay Day and collecting Pokemon.

Experience: 1999-2000 K-5 Resource @ DeBusk Elementary, 2000-2006 Special Education English, Biology, and History @South Greene High School, 2006-2009 Assistant Special Education Director for Greene County, 2009-Present English @ South Greene High School.

Goals for Sophomore English:

  1. Pass the “New and Improved” TN Ready Exam

  2. An increased awareness of the value of literature and what you can learn from reading both fiction and nonfiction text

  3. Improved competency in all areas of writing

  4. Increased Vocabulary

  5. Increased awareness of the importance of being well informed

Procedures for English II:

  1. Paper and pencil/pen will be needed every day.  Please bring your own without borrowing from a peer as this indicates a mature level of responsibility. Note: please do not use gel pens with light colored ink.  Please use black or blue for assignments.

  2. Sit wherever you would like; however I will move you for disciplinary reasons.

  3. Do not jump over desks or put your feet up in empty desks.

  4. You will be given a zero if you put your head down.  Your parents send you to school to learn, not to sleep.

  5. 1 day absent equals 1 day to make up work. It is your responsibility to attain work from instructor.

  6. We will use paper and pencil every day!

  7. Be on time! Three tardies equal one absence.

  8. Out of respect please do not talk while I am talking.

  9. The key word in sophomore English is RESPECT.  I will respect you, and in turn I expect to be treated with respect.
