New year for the Band Family

Welcome Back everyone! The new year is getting ready to start and the High School Band is already off to a grand start! Our new freshmen members are playing like veterans after only the first few days of music camp; The colorguard looks to be even stronger than last year and this year's show is shaping up to be memorable as well.

This year the Band of Rebels pays tribute to Elvis, the King of Rock & Roll with our production titled "Visions of the King". Music for this year's competitive/halftime marching show includes: "Hound Dog, Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, Burning Love, C.C. Rider and Can't Help Falling in Love".

The Band embarks on breaking into new territory this year as we enter our first National-Level Competition; the Bands of America Regional Championship to be held at ETSU in Johnson City on Saturday, October 12. With this new adventure we will also need more parents to help with the actual show. We are in need of a small group of parents to be part of our "Field Crew" to help the band get all of our gear and props on and off the field. Watch (or come to the Booster meetings!) for more information about the Field Crew coming soon!

The Band Boosters also supply food for the band during competition days. We also need parents to contribute food items and/or come to the competitions and help with setup/preparation/distribution. Items usually include: Fruit, snacks (cracker packs, chips, cookies/baked goods, sandwich makings, etc.). Again, watch for more information coming about who to contact if you are interested in helping.

Check the Band calendar as the competition dates for the year have been finalized. Exact times are still TBA but the competitions are usually all-day events. The Hardin Valley Academy and BOA Regional Championships are Prelim/Finals format so will be all day and evening events.
