Senior Milestones Toolkit

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission and Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation have partnered with the Tennessee Department of Education, The Ayers Foundation, and tnAchieves to create the Senior Milestones Toolkit.

The Senior Milestones Toolkit provides resources for schools and organizations to assist high school seniors as they complete three college-going milestones: Tennessee Promise application, college application, and FAFSA submission.

Use the videos, written instructions, and other resources below to help seniors complete these important tasks regardless if your school is in-person, hybrid, or remote. Consider sending these materials via text messages, communication apps like Remind, email, and the learning management platform being used by your school.

Sample Tennessee Promise Student Communications and Calendar- Does your school use a communication app like Remind or Signal Vine? Do you have virtual students who are using a learning management platform like Google Classroom or Schoology? Use these quick messages to encourage students to complete a Tennessee Promise application.
How to Pull the Tennessee Promise Application Status Report- Counselors who have access to e*GRandS can pull a report that shows which students in their school have completed the Tennessee Promise application. This document provides you with step-by-step instruction for pulling this report.

College Application Toolkit- The Tennessee Higher Education Commission has partnered with Tennessee higher education institutions to provide institution-specific college application instructional videos. These videos, created by Tennessee colleges, walk students step-by-step through each college’s application process. This document provides links to the instructional video and college application for each participating college. The institutions listed are those that volunteered to create an application video. If the institution you or your students are looking for is not listed, please visit the institution's website for access to their college application.
